FEEDING THE FUTURE
It is hard to imagine that such vibrant and successful cities and towns throughout the St. Croix River Valley all have one thing in common: Hundreds of children in our backyard are going hungry. Children are our future . . . Let’s help.
“Poverty is the result of relationships that do not work, that are not just, that are not for life, that are not harmonious or enjoyable. Poverty is the absence of shalom in all its meanings.”

RIVER VALLEY CHARITIES

We are a group of volunteers who want to make a difference in the families of these children.
The pandemic has significantly affected individuals and families our organization serves.
Our goal during this crisis response is transparency and awareness.

HOW WE HELP
Several school backpack programs are feeding hungry children across the St. Croix River Valley. These programs send backpacks with nonperishable, child-friendly meals and food vouchers home with participants on weekends and throughout the summer. We assist these organizations with funding so they can continue to provide help to families in need.
Our goal is to expand and reach more children throughout the river valley region to end hunger. We also collect and share best practices for running backpack programs with supported organizations.
2019 PRESENTING PARTNER
Thank you to our 2019 Presenting Partner, Associated Eye Care. Their support has helped our organization tremendously and, in turn, has supported hungry children in our community. We welcome partners at a variety of levels and invite you to learn more about our partnership packages.
“Poor vision and hunger are two key factors in determining a child’s quality of life, at home and at school. In caring for a child’s vision, we are able to increase their successes at school. We didnt feel that was enough. Partnering with River Valley Charities and their vision to support the Backpack Programs was the missing link to increase the child's welfare overall."
